After completing medical school, internship and residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Chatha completed her nephrology training at the University of Colorado with a year of clinical research in Polycystic Kidney Disease. 

 

She started her nephrology practice in Houston in 1999.  She is board certified in Nephrology.   She has served as medical director for several dialysis clinics and was able to earn a 5-Star rating by CMS which is reserved for those clinics which achieve the highest quality standards in delivery of care.  She has maintained a focus on bringing new treatments to her patients and has been a principal investigator in several research trials.

Dr. Chatha has compassionately cared for her patients with a focus on disease prevention, co-management and coordination of care for patients with multiple systemic illnesses, and patient education.  She strives to help her patients understand and take control of their kidney disease in order to have the best outcomes. 

 

Outside of work, Dr. Chatha enjoys being active in her community and travelling with her husband and family.  She enjoys skiing, hiking, long walks with her golden retriever and nurturing her rose garden.
